Subject: Surprisingly Good!
It's late at night and I thought I'd get an easy laugh from an old farming article. Wrong! This little book on landscaping contains most of the same good advice you'd receive today, with one distinct difference. This pamphlet emphasizes the low cost of upgrades that will grow into great yards in 5 - 10 years. That's different than the routine planting of today of the mature plants that give you an instant yard, but it seems like a nice thought.
Subject: Quite an enjoyable read
From Page 9, "How you can get 100 to 1,000 per cent profit, in Five to Ten Years, from a few hundred dollars invested in planning and planting, by increasing the Cash Value or salebility [sic] of your farm, to say nothing of the added health, comfort and beauty."
Look out for the Australian Ballot for the People of Illinois.
Although lacking the colour photos of modern books, this booklet is still applicable today for many houses.
